Volunteer with Us
See3D is a network of people who are enthusiastic about making the world more accessible for blind people with 3D printing. We collaborate on Slack to design, print, and distribute models that have been requested. We also write descriptions of models and transcribe information into Braille. Models printed by volunteers are sent to See3D in Ohio, and See3D distributes the models to the recipient.

3D Printing
Do you love 3D printing, but don’t know what to make? Have excess filament? Want to intrigue students to design a model with a need? Ask us for suggestions!
Currently, people who print models are only in the United States, but we have many international volunteers who design models. We hope to connect international volunteers with people outside the US who request models to decrease the wait time for shipping.
You can help by:
• Printing Copies of Common Model Requests
• Designing 3D Models
• Donating 3D Prints (including prior model requests)
• Updating Designs for 3D Models
Filament Recycling
Contact See3D at info@see3d.org for a pickup or mail/drop off.
You can recycle your filament via our collaboration with Printerior! Please mail your scraps of PLA and PETG filament, following the steps below, and See3D will receive discounts to purchase new filament to make more models for people who are blind or have low vision.
Braille
Our models frequently include braille labels and descriptions, so braille readers can explore and understand their model independently.
We can use your help to transcribe and/or emboss address labels, model labels, and model descriptions.
We use Unified English Braille (UEB) for recipients requesting braille in English. We are looking to partner with people who are able to write braille in other languages, so we can reach a larger population.
Additional Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers can also write descriptions and guided walkthroughs of models, as well as clean and package models for shipping. (local to Cincinnati, Ohio)
